How Atlas screens every international shipment

Automatic OFAC / EU sanctions screening on every consignee — what triggers a review, and what you do if you get one.

Last updated 6/2/2026

Denied-party screening

Every international shipment goes through automatic sanctions screening. Shipping to a sanctioned party is a federal crime in the US (and similar in EU/UK/Canada/Australia).

Lists we screen against

  • US OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN)
  • US BIS Entity List and Denied Persons List
  • EU Consolidated Sanctions List
  • UK HM Treasury Sanctions List
  • UN Security Council Consolidated List

Lists re-sync every 24 hours.

How matching works

We fuzzy-match (trigram similarity ≥ 0.80) the consignee name against every entry on every list.

What happens on a hit

Match scoreOutcome
Above 0.95Blocked. Label not purchased.
0.80–0.95Review. On hold for human review.
Below 0.80Clear.

What you do

If flagged, you'll see a banner on the shipment detail page. Attach supporting docs to speed review. If you believe the match is wrong, email compliance@atlasbridgelogistics.com.

Audit trail

Every screening decision is logged forever in screening_results. Pull a CSV from Dashboard → Compliance → Export.
